The new facility is the largest Irish-owned net zero energy building complying distribution hub, according to the firm.
The hub will increase Primeline’s existing footprint, which consists of 10 industrial facilities spread over one million square feet throughout Ireland and the UK.
There are currently 1,100 employment at Primeline; the additional positions will be in sales, operations, and IT. Every week, the organisation delivers more than 25,000 items to over 7,500 locations around Ireland.
“The development of this hub along with our investment in new technologies, is a product of careful planning and strategy and is also a symbol of the vision we have for Primeline Group,” Tim Cummins, Primeline Group’s chief executive officer, said Peter Burke, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment, applauded the initiative.
“The story of Primeline Group is one of ambition and entrepreneurship, and the group has built a truly impressive presence across Ireland and the UK,” added Burke.
“Bringing this new addition online will no doubt be a major asset to its growth in Ashbourne and the wider region,” he stated. Leo Clancy, CEO of Enterprise Ireland, characterised Primeline Group’s expansion as a prime illustration of Irish business’s potential.
“This company’s success is rooted in their ability to deliver on a first-class customer experience while also keeping an eye to the future of where the growth opportunities lie,” added Clancy.
