90% of Irish CEOs believe there will be a return to pre-pandemic ways of working in the office within the next three years, according to new research.
KPMG’s 10th annual CEO Outlook survey shows that Irish business leaders have strong confidence in the local and global economy, as well as significant plans to invest in AI and talent.
The survey was conducted with 1,800 CEOs worldwide, including in Ireland.
The report shows that Irish CEOs are more confident than their global counterparts on the economic outlook locally and internationally over the next three years.
90% anticipate growth in the Irish economy and 80% expect the global economy to grow over this period.
According to the survey, 97% of Irish CEOs are expecting to increase headcount in the next three years, notwithstanding challenges in recruiting relevant talent.
Artificial intelligence (AI) remains the top investment priority with 67% of Irish CEOs seeing enhanced opportunities in GenAI to enable a skilled and productive workforce.
“It is great to see the continuing confidence of Irish CEOs when it comes to the growth prospects of their companies and our economy over the next three years,” said KPMG Managing Partner Seamus Hand.
“While there are risks such as cost pressures, increasing regulatory complexity and geopolitical uncertainty, the resilience and underlying strength of the economy remains strong,” Mr Hand added.
