The Limerick store that sold last Saturday’s Lotto jackpot ticket worth nearly €9m also sold Dolores McNamara her winning EuroMillions ticket worth €115m back in 2005.

The National Lottery has confirmed the winning ticket worth €8,970,934 was sold at GO Stores in Garryowen.

The store was also the location for one of the largest wins in National Lottery history.

Dolores McNamara became the first EuroMillions jackpot winner in Ireland after purchasing her ticket in July 2005, which marked the biggest lottery win in Europe at the time.

The latest winner has yet to come forward.

The winning numbers in Saturday’s draw were: 01, 09, 10, 14, 26, 40 and the bonus was 04.

The jackpot was over €8.9m.

In the first few years after Ms McNamara’s jackpot win, she had to invest in extensive security measures at her home because of concerns for her safety and the safety of their family.

Reports at the time suggested that they had received kidnap threats.

Ms McNamara has sought to maintain a private life since the win.

While she agreed to have her photo taken once she had collected her cheque, she left it to her solicitor, David Sweeney to issue a statement on her behalf.

It read: “It is her sincere desire that she and her family will return to normality as soon as possible.

The National Lottery has confirmed the winning ticket worth €8,970,934 was sold at GO Stores in Garryowen.

“She is absolutely determined that her feet and the feet of her family will remain firmly on the ground.”

The family has built up a property portfolio, including paying a reported €3.46m for Tinarana House and the adjoining 270 acres overlooking Lough Derg in Co. Tipperary.
