JOHN O’SHEA has revealed that his reappointment as caretaker Ireland head coach should happen within days.
FAI Director of Football Marc Canham revealed on Friday that he is not close to appointing a full-time coach, and he opted O’Shea would take the interim role once again.

And O’Shea, 42, has confirmed that a deal is close that will see him lead the team against Hungary on June 4 and Portugal on June 11, having taken charge in March for the friendlies with Belgium and Switzerland.
O’Shea told Virgin Media: “It’s one of them, we’re in talks at the minute. Hopefully it will be fairly straightforward.”
When asked when did he expect a deal to be agreed, he speculated that it would be early this week.
And he also revealed that he would like to work with the same backroom staff again, having recruited Paddy McCarthy, Glenn Whelan and Brian Kerr for the March games.
He added: “It will be fairly straightforward in that sene because they were really good people involved, and I’d imagine fairly similar again.”
