Mayo’s paths to Sam Maguire revealed championship draw made

Must read

Mayo will face Derry, Westmeath and the Ulster champions in the 2024 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in the event of a win over Galway this Sunday.

The draw for the Sam Maguire has pitted the Connacht champions against Division 1 champions Derry, Tailteann Cup champions Westmeath, and either Donegal or Armagh.

Should Mayo lose to Galway in the Connacht final, Kevin McStay’s men will be placed in Group 2 with Roscommon, Cavan and the winners of the Louth v Dublin Leinster final.

Mayo will play their first game of the 2024 championship on the weekend of May 18-19.

Should they be victorious against Galway, they will play Derry at home in the first round while a defeat would see Mayo face Cavan at home.

The second round will see Mayo travel to either Westmeath or Roscommon while the third game will see the green and red face one of the Leinster or Ulster finalists in a neutral venue.

A win over Galway on Sunday would see Mayo face the Ulster runners-up in the last round while a defeat would result in a third-round clash with the Leinster champions.

The groups for the 2024 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship are as follows:

Group 1

Connacht winners (Galway/Mayo), Derry, Westmeath, Ulster runners-up (Donegal/Armagh)
