A GOLF classic, which takes place next month will raise money to help the families of sick children across Ireland.

Limerick Golf Club at Ballyclough on the edge of the city is to play host to the second Limerick Chamber golf classic on Friday, June 7.

The event is designed to appeal to those seeking a competitive day on the links, but also networking with the local business community.

Chamber president Noel Gavin said: “We hope that with each year, we can continue to elevate and grow this event making it a staple summer event for our business community. The support from Mr Binman our main sponsors, our tee sponsors, the participating teams, and our charity partner, Cliona’s Foundation, is truly heartening.”

Entry is priced at €400 for a team of four, covering the golf round, goodie bags, midway refreshments, and lunch in the clubhouse after your round of golf.

All the proceeds from the day will go to help the Cliona’s Foundation.

Based in Castletroy, Cliona’s is a national charity providing financial assistance directly to parents of children with life-limiting or chronic complex care needs across Ireland.

This is to help with the non-medical expenses related to caring for their child.

Joe Cleary, the sales and marketing director at Mr Binman said: “We are delighted to partner once again with Limerick Chamber and support this unique event. The Limerick Chamber Golf Classic fosters a strong community spirit, which we are thrilled to be a part of. This event at the Limerick Golf Club is a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with the business community across the Mid-West in an exciting and dynamic setting.”

Brendan Ring, the co-founder and volunteer chief executive of Cliona’s Foundation added: “We are excited to network with all the teams at the upcoming Limerick Chamber golf classic, and  we are proud & grateful to be the charity partner.”

He said the event represents an important platform for the charity to link up with the business community in the region, and create awareness of the support they provide, and the impact it can have.

As well as the chance to network, there are many prizes up for grabs.

Chief among them is a trip to the All-Island Chambers Ireland golf classic, which will take place at the K Club in Kildare on October 20.

Spaces are limited for the upcoming golf classic.
