While it’s tradition that the FA Cup final is played at 3 pm on a Saturday, the EPCR have really presented fans with a headache by scheduling the Champions Cup decider for 2.45 pm.

Not only that but there is the not insignificant matter of Celtic and Rangers clashing in the Scottish Cup Final too.

Brendan Rodgers’ men have already bested their fellow Glaswegian giants to the SPL title so that 3 pm kick-off could cap off a season of ups and downs on a real high.

Mick McCarthy of Off the Ball is just one of countless Irish sports fanatics who’s vented about the pickle on all our hands.

He tweeted: “Champions Cup final, FA Cup final and Scottish Cup final all on the same time tomorrow. (crying emoji)”

Not only that but among the replies, Conor Kane of RTE pointed out: “And the Irish Guineas…”

The rugby showpiece being on earlier than in previous years has particularly gotten people’s backs up.

Ross O’Connor commented: “Champions Cup that early is ridiculous.”

While in a similar vein, Aeneas McAuliffe fumed: “Beyond stupid. Raging.

“Surely the Champions Cup should be on around 5 pm? Thought it used to always be on around that time??”

For reference, last year’s battle between Leinster and La Rochelle at the Aviva Stadium was a 4.45 pm kick-off.

One would imagine London will be heaving across Saturday afternoon as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be playing host to Leinster and Toulouse.

It’s only an hour’s drive between it and Wembley where the two Manchester giants will be dukeing it out for the world’s oldest club football trophy.
