TROY PARROTT is keen to keep Excelsior in the Eredivisie after bagging his first career hat-trick.
Parrott, 22, completed the feat as they beat Den Haag 7-1 on the day — and 9-1 on aggregate — in Saturday’s relegation play-off semi-final.
The Dutch format means that Excelsior must now play lower-tier NAC Breda in a two-legged decider, with the first leg tomorrow.
The Dubliner, who is on loan from Spurs, said: “I always want more but I also understand that we’ve two more games to play.
“Especially now at this time of the season, it’s difficult where we’ve a lot of games in a short time.
“We have two important games left and we’ll do everything that we can to win the two games.”
On the Den Haag clash, Parrott added: “This is my first time scoring three goals, it’s a special feeling.
“We came here to do what we had to do, to win the game. We won it in really good fashion.”
Parrott will likely be named in John O’Shea’s Ireland squad for June clashes with Hungary and Portugal.
But Excelsior’s games mean he will likely miss the Hungary match on June 4.
Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven are all understood to be keen to sign him permanently after an impressive season in which he has netted 13 goals.
