The number of people working in Ireland will hit a record 2.8 million by 2026 even with growth moderating from recent highs, AIB’s latest Economic Outlook says.

Low unemployment combined with population growth and the greater rates of participation by women that has been a characteristic of the labour force since the pandemic will combine to drive up the employment numbers, according to the analysis.
