Lok Sabha Elections 2024: 74 Women Elected as MPs, Dip From 78 in 2019 Elections
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, 74 women were elected, marking a slight decrease from the 78 women elected in 2019. The victorious women included both first-time Members of Parliament (MPs) and those returning for their second or third terms. Out of the total 8,360 candidates who contested the parliamentary polls, three were transgender candidates running independently; however, none of them won.
