LANGUAGE interpretation company Translit is joining a British consortium in a move which will create 40 new jobs.

The move will see a merger between Translit – which is located at Upper Mallow Street in Limerick city centre – and DA Language, a Manchester-based provider of interpreting services.

The new deal, which EY acted on as lead advisors, will create new opportunities for the Limerick-based firm in Ireland, Britain and further afield, offering language solutions to bridge communication gaps.

Some 40 new jobs have been created as a consequence of the merger, ten of which have been filled.

The remaining 30 staff are expected to be recruited by the end of 2025.

Translit will continue to trade under this name, with its founder Alex Chernenko also staying in place as chief executive.

He said: “This agreement is a really positive milestone in the story of Translit and I am so excited to see the possibilities it will create for the company. We’ve had an incredibly busy few years and the team and I are ready to take our activity to the next level. Our partnership with DA Languages also reinforces Translit’s commitment to providing exceptional language solutions. We are thrilled to join Valorem Group, a consortium that shares our ambitious drive and commitment to excellence.”

Matthew Taylor, who heads DA Languages added: “Alex and the team have built a fantastic business, we are proud to welcome Translit into Valorem Group. Their innovative approach to language services aligns perfectly with our mission to support ambitious companies. Together, we will continue to push boundaries and deliver unparalleled value to our clients.”
