The talented teenager was initially selected for a 36-strong training group, and there was even better news on Friday when the IRFU revealed the finalised travelling party of 28 and her name was included.
Robyn sufficiently impressed head coach Niamh Briggs and her support staff to be selected for a series that will see Ireland based in Parma.
Their opening match is against England on Thursday, July 4 at 5.30 p.m., and they will also meet Italy on Tuesday, July 9 (9 a.m.), and Scotland on Sunday, July 14 (9 a.m.).
All matches will be streamed live on the Six Nations U20 YouTube channel, as well as on IrishRugby.ie Robyn – who has inspired her club, Wexford Wanderers, and her school, Loreto – to notable successes recently, is one of three backs selected from Leinster, along with Jade Gaffney of Old Belvedere and Ellie O’Sullivan-Sexton of Mullingar.
Head coach Niamh Briggs said: “It’s exciting for all of us to be part of this tournament. Having these structures in place at Under-18 and Under-20 is important in helping the players to develop and bridge the gap to senior internationals.
“This gives players time to expose themselves to better opposition and I suppose expose themselves to higher level rugby, expose themselves to camp and the environment that that brings.”
Elsewhere on the rugby front, Enniscorthy’s 2024-’25 fixtures in the Energia All-Ireland League Division 2C have been announced.
They will host Belfast Harlequins in Alcast Park on Saturday, September 21 at 2.30 p.m., with their first away trip to Ballyclare – newly-promoted from the Junior ranks – seven days later.
