Ryan Griffin was part of the Irish team that won the R&A Home Internationals at Murcar Links Golf Club in northern Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

The Convoy native played his part as Ireland overcame Scotland, Wales and England last week. Ireland opened with a 5-2 win over Scotland with Griffin and Sean Keeling defeating Cameron Adam and Gregory Tait 2&1 in the foursomes.

In the singles, the teams shared the spoils in 7-7, with Griffin a comprehensive winner in his match against Cormac Sharpe 8&7.

Then, on day two, Ireland enjoyed a 5-3 foursomes victory over Wales with Griffin rested and he returned in the afternoon to tie against Tom Bastow, with Ireland triumphing 11-3.

Ireland wrapped up the title on day three against England and having won the foursomes 4-3, Griffin halved his match against Sebastian Cave with the singles ending 7-7.

Ireland therefore won all three outings to clinch the overall title with 39 match points, England were second with two wins from three and 35, while Scotland won once with 26, the same match points total as winless Wales.
