Lowe (60) first became famous in the 1980s as a member of the ‘Brat Pack’, scoring hits with movies such as St Elmo’s Fire and The Outsiders.

He is presenting a quiz show for the Fox network in the US being filmed in Ardmore called The Floor.

American contestants fill out a floor grid of 81 squares, each of which is occupied by someone with expertise in a different trivia category and the eventual winner takes over territory controlled by the losers.

Filmed in front of an Irish audience, the winner of each 10 part series scoops a jackpot prize of €250,000.

Lowe has been staying in the Powerscourt Hotel in Enniskerry Co. Wicklow. He was accompanied for part of his trip here by his son Johnny, with whom he’s currently starring in the Netflix series Unstable.

The pair took time out from their schedule to go golfing in Portmarnock in north Co. Dublin.

Catherine Zeta Jones also took to the golf course during her stay here.

The Welsh beauty, who is married to Michael Douglas, took to the fairways in May at the luxurious Glasson Lakehouse resort in Co. Westmeath.

The supernatural horror follows Wednesday Addams – played by Jenna Ortega — based on the character from The Addams Family.

A zip lining structure has been erected in Co Wicklow as part of one of the locations for the series, with filming set to resume in the coming weeks.

Love/Hate star Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, who famously starred as Nidge in the crime drama, has been cast in the role of Plummer in HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which

will be set 100 years before the main storyline.

The first season will comprise of six episodes which will be released on HBO and Max next year.

Ant Man star Paul Rudd has flown back into Dublin in recent days to re-shoot some scenes for John Carney’s musical comedy Power Ballad.

The movie tells the story of the story of a wedding singer (Rudd), a rock star (Nick Jonas), and the song that comes between them. Wicklow actor Jack Reynor also stars.

The cast have already used locations as diverse as Bray seafront and Dundrum Shopping Centre.

Meanwhile, Elijah Wood is currently filming Blue Moon in Ardmore Studios and the Dublin area.

The movie is directed by Boyhood filmmaker Richard Linklater, and is also starring Dubliner Andrew Scott, best known for his roles in Fleabag, Sherlock Holmes and lately Ripley. Margaret Qualley (Kinds Of Kindness), Andrew and Bobby Cannavale (Blonde) are also cast.

It is penned by Robert Kaplow, whose novel Me & Orson Welles inspired Linklater’s 2008 film of the same name, Blue Moon. “Robert [Kaplow], Ethan [Hawke], and I have been developing this story for over a decade and are excited and grateful that the time has come to bring this to life,” said the director.

The same director is planning a TWENTY YEAR shoot with Paul Mescal and Beanie Feldstein on the filmmaker’s Merrily We Roll Along adaptation.
