Grafton Group, which operates Woodie’s and Chadwicks stores here, will share its half-year results on Thursday.

Revenues at the building materials firm rose slightly to £2.32bn (€2.7bn) last year, up from £2.2bn (€2.56bn) in 2022.

Around 60pc of the group’s revenue was generated from its businesses in Ireland, the Netherlands and Finland, Grafton Group reported.

Ferry operator Irish Continental Group is also set to share its results for the first six months of the year on Thursday.

Profit before tax rose to €63.3m last year from €62.5m a year earlier.

Demand in the ferries division rose, while performance in the container division was impacted by weak import and export levels in China and supply chain challenges.

A day later, on Friday, Irish airline software specialist Datalex will share an update on the first half of the year.

The group, which helps its customers streamline retail offerings to passengers, recorded total revenue of $28.9m (€26.06m) for last year, up 23pc from a year earlier.

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) will publish the “flash” or early estimate for the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for August on Thursday.

The HICP was estimated to have risen by 1.5pc in the year to July 2024 and was unchanged from a month earlier. Energy prices were also estimated to have dropped 5.8pc in the same period.

However, food prices are up by almost 2pc in the past year.

This will be followed by full euro-area-wide release on Friday from Eurostat.

The CSO will also share an update on inbound tourism for July on Friday, as well as the latest edition of the retail sales index.

Also on Friday, Eurostat will share insights into electricity production, consumption and market overview in 2022 and unemployment in the eurozone in July.
