Men’s Golf Travels to Ireland For Lyons Links – Elon University Athletics

ELON, N.C. – The Elon men’s golf team head to Dublin, Ireland to compete at the Lyons Links, Wednesday-Friday, September 18-20. The event will be held at the par-72, 7,289-yard, Royal Dublin Golf Club.
 
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION  

  • Teams will play three rounds across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The first round will feature tee times off hole one beginning at 2:30 a.m. (EST).
  • The other teams competing in the tournament are Cal Poly, Maynooth and tournament host, Wake Forest.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Jack Wieler was Elon’s top finisher after carding a 2-under par 70 in his final round to finish tied for individual win and being named CAA Co-Men’s Golfer of the Week. Wieler finished with a 54-hole total of 207 (-9), led the field in par-4 scoring average (3.73) and finished second in the field in birdies (16).
  • Garrett Risner shot an even-par 72 in his final round to finish tied for sixth place. He carded three birdies on the day and paced the team in par-3 scoring average at 2.83.
  • Landon Durham shot his best round score in the final round with a 1-under par 72 to finish tied for 32nd place. He led the team in pars with 35.
  • Matthew Doyle moved up five spots on the individual leaderboard to tie for 45th place after carding a 72 (E) in his final round. Doyle had four birdies on the day and led the team in par-5 scoring average (4.50).
  • Bronson Myers shot his low round of the tournament with a 71 (-1) to move up nine spots on in the individual leaderboard and tied for 69th place.
  • As an individual, Bizzell Pate tied for 77th place with a 54-hole total of 231 (+15).
  • As a team, Elon finished tied for second in the field in par-4 scoring average with a 4.03.
