Emma Slevin and Halle Hilton shine for Ireland at Northern European Gymnastics Championships in Dublin

Ireland secured a historic medal haul on day two of the Northern European Gymnastics Championships. The first podium level international event to be hosted in Ireland is being used by Gymnastics Ireland as a showcase for a regular international in Dublin.

Emma Slevin claimed one silver (floor) and two bronze medals (balance beam and uneven bars) to add to her two golds in the opening day on Saturday. Halle Hilton secured silver in the women’s vault. The Irish men also impressed at the Sport Ireland Campus with Niall Hooten earning a silver medal on parallel bars.

Vault: Halle Hilton 12.550 placed 2nd

Floor: Emma Slevin 12.900 placed 2nd; Lily Russell 11.800 placed 6th

Balance Beam: Emma Slevin 12.800 placed 3rd; Eve McGibbon 12.350 placed 4th

Uneven Bars: Emma Slevin 12.300 placed 3rd

Men’s Apparatus Finals:

Parallel Bars: Niall Hooton 13.100 placing 2nd;

Pommel Horse: James Hickey 12.350 placed 7th
