Executive Insights is an in-conversation content series featuring thought leaders from across the Irish business community. Hosted by Business & Finance, in association with KPMG, the series explores business strategy and how to navigate the current climate.
This episode features Tony Judd, Managing Director, Verizon, UK & Ireland, in conversation with Anna Scally, Partner, KPMG Ireland. Verizon was named FDI of the Month in December 2023.
Anna Scally, Partner, KPMG Ireland, met with businessman Tony Judd to delve into his career and glean insights into Verizon’s success under his leadership. Judd spoke about how new technology has created both opportunities and challenges for organisations. He gave advice to companies when deciding on goals and targets. “Goals are very easy to set, whether strategic, tactical, or operational. But technology has changed everything. You must balance between long-term goals and reacting to new possibilities and threats. The best advice is to focus on the customer—understand their needs and work backwards. That way, your goals remain adaptable.”
Judd and Scally discussed the role of secure high-performance networks into the future with Judd emphasising the importance of Networks not only connecting people but also delivering low-latency, high-speed solutions. They also explored the value of diverse networks for entrepreneurs. Judd noted: “You can’t believe your idea is perfect. You need people who will challenge you, and you’ll grow from their feedback.”
