National College of Ireland student Patrick Curran will take a two shot lead into the final round of the R&A Student Tour Series event in Belvoir Park.
Curran carded a superb second round of 66 to climb to six-under-par ahead of Judd Sundelson, Max Weaver and Fior Lorenzo.
The 19-year-old opened with a birdie and after bogeys on the 2nd and 4th he roared to the turn with four birdies in five holes and topped those up with gains on the 10th and 15th.
Overnight leaders Lucas Lyons and Jordan Boles are three-under and two-under respectively.
Meanwhile, in the women’s event Kate Lanigan of Maynooth University put together another strong round with a 69 to lie in a share of second place on six-under-par just one shot behind Hanna Nilsson.
