Basketball Ireland to host Masters trials in Galway later this month

Details have been confirmed for the first open trial for the Irish Masters Basketball programme.

Basketball Ireland will hold open trials for the international Masters programme on Saturday October 26.

The trials will take place in the University of Galway’s Kingfisher Gym.

The association has received huge interest in the FIMBA World Championships in Ticino, Switzerland in June of next year and also for the European Championships in Greece in 2026.

Earlier this year, Mayo was well represented in FIMBA Maxiball European Championships.

Trinie Naylor Kennedy the Ballina Pacers was part of the Ireland Women’s O60s team, which was coached by Mike Lydon.

Mayo Meteors’ Anthony McHale was part of the Ireland 065 Men’s team.

The schedule for trials will be as follows:

• O40/O45 Men – 09:00 – 10:30
• O40/O45 Women – 10:30 – 12:00
• O50/O55 Men – 12:00 – 13:30
• O50/O55 Women – 13:30 – 15:00
• O60 Women – 13:30 – 15:00
