WEXFORD LADIES
A most enjoyable and very well-attended presentation evening took place on Thursday, October 10. It was a very busy schedule as it was the final presentation night of this season, with so many awards to be presented.
First up was for the weekly stableford competition for October 5 and 10, sponsored by Gill Publishers. The changing of the seasons was noticeable in the resultant scoring and much credit is due to the best performers in the competition, with only the countback separating first, second and third placings.
There was also a novel element introduced to the day in the form of a ‘blind fourball’, and well done to the prize-winners as listed below.

NEW ROSS SENIORS
It was a challenging day for golf on Thursday with a stiff north, north-west wind sweeping down the course.
The temperature was way down as indeed were the scoring returns. No one got near the target score of 100 points but, considering the wind, anyone breaking 90 points did rather well.
In an ultra-tight finish, the team of Seán O’Neill, Seamus Bolger, Les Jastrebski and Colin Casey took first prize with 94 points.
After a countback over the last nine holes and with a total of 93 points, Jimmy Ryan, Paddy Bennett, Tommy Kehoe and Peter Aldridge took second place.
On the same score and taking third prize were Mikey Lee, Willie Whitty, Pat Coady and Jamesie Murphy.
