Heimir Hallgrimsson was under the weather in Greece on Sunday, needing to spend some time isolating from the rest of the group because he was struggling with a fever.
There is every chance, though, that the Icelander will feel some warmth from Ireland fans for next month’s Nations League visit of Finland because of the Helsinki victory that ensured there would always be positive memories from the October double-header.
