My week with Celia Holman Lee: Fashion-forward for forty years!

A THROWBACK-themed fashion event that showcased a store which has championed Irish fashion labels since 1984, was a true dream to be part of.

I’ve had my fair share of runway moments in recent weeks and, indeed, over the last 40 years, but to celebrate in such a unique way and MC the 40th-anniversary for Macbees boutique in Killarney was a true joy.

A gem that has been fashion-forward since 1984, stepping into Macbees’ legacy was like stepping back into a time capsule of beautiful fashion moments that have stood the test of time.

Mary McBride set up the store on New Street in Killarney which is now run by her daughter Aoife. Both women are inspirations and much like myself, have a passion for fashion!

We held the throwback-themed event on October 12 and flocked to the picturesque Kerry town. Guests enjoyed bubbles and treats, making them all happy customers!

The show was a tribute to the trends that have shaped the last four decades, from the shoulder pads and power suits of the 1980s to the slip dresses of the 1990s, right through to today’s modern styles.

As I introduced each look on the runway, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of nostalgia, remembering when these pieces were the height of fashion.

Watching the Holman Lee Agency models on the runway in these iconic outfits, I realised how fashion has a beautiful way of coming full circle.

Trends may change, but true style never fades!

Being part of this milestone celebration was so much fun and a surprise guest on the day made it all the more memorable.

Jessica O’Mahony, wife of legendary Munster and Irish rugby star Peter O’Mahony, graced us with her presence – and what a stunning lady she is!

Here’s to 40 more years of fashion, and I’m thrilled to have been part of such a stylish celebration with Macbees.
