Jamie Dornan has kept a special date with old friends in Donegal even though one of the most important figures in his life was missing.
The star of The Fall and films such as Belfast and Fifty Shades of Grey travelled to Rosapenna to play golf in an annual father-and-son tournament that he and his dad Jim loved.
Professor Jim Dornan, a leading obstetrician and gynaecologist, died in March 2021, but Jamie has been determined to continue to join up with school friends from Methodist College and RBAI and their fathers for the annual competition.
He posed happily for pictures after the tournament at the Rosapenna Golf Resort, not far from Downings.
The father-and-son get-togethers date back more than 25 years.
Among the highlights is a visit to the Olde Glen Bar and restaurant, close to Carrigart, for a meal and where pictures of Jamie with female fans adorn the walls.
By coincidence, Jamie bumped into another golf-loving actor in Donegal on his latest trip.
Bill Murray regularly visits the county to play golf. He has also made documentaries about his passion for Irish courses.
He met a group of lady golfers from Strabane Golf Club at Cruit Island Golf Club.
