Ireland Vs New Zealand Betting Tips: 3 Autumn International Selections

After a century of dominance from the All Blacks, Ireland against New Zealand has developed into one of the most fascinating and storied rivalries of world rugby in recent years.

The famous stoush between Rieko Ioane and Johnny Sexton following last year’s dramatic World Cup final should add to the intensity of the atmosphere around the Aviva Stadium.

As the world’s number one ranked nation begins a series of home fixtures against four southern hemisphere opponents with an immensely strong side, rugby betting sites have graded them as 6.5 point favourites.

It was a perfect weekend last week for readers of our regular All Blacks previews as we correctly tipped the margin as well as try scorers from each team for a 19/1 winning treble.

Ireland Vs New Zealand Tips: Another Close Encounter

We’re again sitting on the fence and anticipating a narrower winning margin than the one predicted on betting apps due to New Zealand having had slightly better preparation leading into this fixture.

Ireland have not played internationals since their exciting July tour of South Africa, albeit their players aren’t short of match practice due to the club season.

They’ve made several changes to their South African tour side because Jamison Gibson-Park and Mack Hansen missed it to play Sevens at the Olympics whilst Hugo Keenan was injured.

The All Blacks are battle-hardened having played eight matches since the beginning of the Rugby Championship and have put that matchday one loss to Argentina and a pair of defeats to the Springboks into the dustbin.

Both teams played the Springboks twice each in 2024 and all four games were decided by a margin of six or fewer points, which sets this game up to be as close as last year’s World Cup quarter-final, which the All Blacks took out by just four points.

A little bit of first-game rust from this Irish squad could be enough to keep their winning margin narrow or perhaps even a tight defeat.

Ireland Vs New Zealand Prediction: Lowe’s High Standards Against All Blacks

James Lowe can consider himself unfortunate to have gone scoreless through the two-Test tour of South Africa.

Retired referee Nigel Owens saying Lowe was robbed of a match-levelling try after the TMO intervened to identify an issue with the Irish breakdown leading to the no-try.

Despite that, he continues to be a regular try scorer at both club and international level and, as FloRugby’s 36th best player on the planet, is a well-deserved favourite to cross the whitewash against his country of birth.

He last did so in a November 2021 win at home to New Zealand (29-20), and since the start of Ireland’s title-winning Six Nations Championship campaign, he has scored in a narrow majority (nine of 17) of starting appearances for Leinster or Ireland.

That makes his slightly less than even money price of 4/5 on betting sites to score a try here a fair one and we believe he’s a solid favourite.

Ireland Vs New Zealand Betting: Jordan’s Will To Score

Despite his recent move to fullback under his former Crusaders coach Scott Robertson, Will Jordan continues to add to the points for the All Blacks on a regular basis.

He was a very prolific try scorer in the number 14 shirt for New Zealand, crossing the line in four consecutive World Cup appearances.

Since moving to full-back, he has not slowed down and scored tries in consecutive Bledisloe Cup games against Australia as well as scoring in the narrow win 24-22 win over England last weekend.

That means three consecutive internationals on the scoresheet, and eight out of 12 since the start of the World Cup, excluding one half-hour cameo off the bench in the loss to Argentina.

This opposition also appears to bring the best out of the 26-year-old, who in last year’s World Cup quarter-final, scored for a fourth consecutive time against the Irish.

His 2023/24 form is too good to ignore, especially if we can nearly triple our money backing him to terrorise Ireland for a fifth time!
