Longford horse trainer Paul Flynn, with three winners to his credit, was the winner of the 2024 GAIN The Advantage series.
The series concluded in September, at Naas Racecourse, marking the end of an exciting nine-leg series.

In partnership with Horse Racing Ireland, the GAIN The Advantage series targeted flat trainers, offering a prize of €5,000 worth of GAIN Equine Nutrition products to the leading trainer.

For Paul Flynn, 2024 has been a year to remember. Speaking about his success, Paul highlighted the significance of winning the GAIN The Advantage series leg at Cork Racecourse with ‘Solar Drive’, which set the tone for the rest of the season.

He explained, “So far, this year has been one of our best years. We have had nearly 20 winners covering both flat and jumps. The year started off with us winning the GAIN The Advantage series leg at Cork Racecourse with ‘Solar Drive’.”

Paul continued, “After that win we really targeted the series, because we knew if we won, the prize was going to be a great help. ‘Solar Drive’ is now jumping over hurdles, and is one that could end up going to Cheltenham.”

‘Feature This’ was another little stable star for the Colehill based trainer, who candidly admitted “I never thought she could win in Leopardstown but she did. She has since been sold but she did us proud that day. We wish her new owners the best for the future.”

Paul concluded, “‘Nibras Rainbow’ won in Killarney which was a fantastic day for the owners. We had struggled with him a bit all year but he really came good on the day. He is finished for the year now.”

Philip Gilligan, Irish Country Manager of GAIN Equine Nutrition, reflected on the success of the 2024 series, saying, “It’s been a fantastic journey this year for the GAIN The Advantage Series. With nine legs and two split races in Leopardstown and Killarney, it has really highlighted the strong appetite for this series among trainers. The series has travelled across many of Ireland’s most iconic racecourses, including a newly added leg in Down Royal.

“GAIN Equine Nutrition is proud to highlight the dedication of trainers, breeders, and stable staff, whose hard work drives this industry forward. It’s truly rewarding to give back and recognise their invaluable contributions.”
