It’s now or never for Tom McKibbin and Leona Maguire as far as their season long goals go while Seamus Power returns to action after a promising start to his PGA Tour FedEx Cup fall campaign as he looks to secure his spot in two of the Signature Events in 2025.
DP World Tour
McKibbin will have one last roll of the dice at the DP World Tour Championship as his bid for a PGA Tour card goes down to the last event of the year.
The Northern Irishman is currently the best placed of those on the outside looking in. In just his second season on the DP World Tour, he has been a consistent presence towards the top of leaderboards with nine top tens – a feat bettered only by Thriston Lawrence.
McKibbin made his first start at a Major at the U.S. Open in June, before following that up with his Open debut a month later at Royal Troon.
The 21-year-old is still well in the mix to join fellow Holywood player Rory McIlroy on the PGA TOUR next year. He has finished in the top ten in his last two Rolex Series events, and another one at Jumeirah Golf Estates should punch his ticket to the USA.
Meanwhile, McIlroy just needs to avoid disaster on the Earth Course to wrap up his sixth Race to Dubai crown which would take him level with Seve Ballesteros and just two behind Collin Montgomerie.
Shane Lowry will also have one last roll of the dice to collect the win he so desperately craves after another near miss at the weekend.
PGA Tour
Seamus Power returns to action at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship and he is in a commanding position in the FedEx Cup Fall series.
With just two events remaining of the Fall series Power is 54th in the standings with players ranked 51st to 60th in the FedEx Cup set to secure eligibility for two Signature Events at the Genesis Invitational and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
LPGA Tour
Leona Maguire is looking over her shoulder ahead of the final qualifying event on the LPGA Tour for the CME Group Tour Championship.
The top-60 and ties will progress to the season finale with Maguire ranked 57th in the season long standings in what has been a disappointing season given her usually high standards.
Qualifying for the tour championship would at least put a gloss on a year that saw her play just twice for Europe in their defeat to the USA in the Solheim Cup and miss three of five major championship cuts.
Alps Tour
Hugh Foley will kick off his professional career at the Final Stage of Alps Tour Q-School and he will be joined by former Irish teammates Liam Nolan and John Murphy with thirteen Irish players teeing it up in Italy.
Legends TourÂ
Gary Murphy is off to Mexico for the WCM Mexico Senior Open which boasts a quality field including major champions Corey Pavin, Shaun Micheel, Michael Campbell, Angel Cabrera and Rich Beem while two time Schwab Cup winner Steven Alker and Alex Cejka are also competing.
