Maynooth University students Simon Walker and Aodhagan Brady managed to grab a share of tenth place at the 16th King Hamad Trophy in Royal Golf Club, Bahrain.
Walker (Roscommon) carded a final round of 69 while Brady shot a level-par 72 to remain on two-over-par with the pair ending the week six shots off eventual winner Tom Sloman.
Walker found his groove on the final day rolling in two birdies in his first three holes before carding further birdies on the 14th and 16th. He was denied a bogey free round on the 18th.
Sligo’s Brady had a mixed bag all week and that was reflected in his final round where he carded six birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey on the par-3 16th.
Brady looked to be mounting a late charge and was inside the top-5 after three successive birdies from the 12th but had to settle for a share of tenth place in the professional event.
Walker and Brady secured fourth position in the amateur only category.
Meanwhile, Thomas Abom was six-over and Liam Abom was seven-over.
