A long-standing Wexford business is the face of a new national advertisement…

John G Doyle, who owns Myles Doyle Select Grocer and Fine Wines in the heart of Gorey town, is the face of Visa Ireland’s new national advertisement.

In business now for 58 years, everyone across Gorey and Wexford would be aware of this business. Despite the rapidly changing society and the changes within the town over almost six decades, this shop has kept to its own values and hasn’t really changed that much, adding to its appeal and uniqueness.

Although there of course is a touch of history about the shop, they have implemented one significant modern change to their business as they now accept Visa Card payments.

In the advertisement, John Doyle explains how his father had inherited the building on Gorey’s main street from a cousin who was running a butcher shop there.

“Over the years, the shift to digital payments has made running the store so much easier. It really surprised me how much it streamlined our daily operations,” he said.

“It’s not just about making life easier for us, it’s about our customers and suppliers who experience faster, more convenient, and secure payment options. With around 70% of our payments now digital, it has become an essential part of how we operate,” John said.
