Belfast shopping centre reports 3% rise in footfall in 2024

West Belfast shopping hub the Kennedy Centre has said it’s now fully let, as it marks a 3% rise in footfall during 2024.

The centre, which has tenants including Ominplex Cinemas, Boots and Burger King, said it was now gearing up for a bumper Christmas season.

Its latest tenant arrivals are aesthetics clinic Modern Glow, American sweets specialist Sweets N Treats and Andersonstown School of Music.

Other tenants have expanded, with The Family Entertainment Centre tripling in size, while school uniform stockist Truly Fare has doubled its retail space.

Centre manager John Jones said: “We are delighted to welcome new additions to Kennedy Centre and to see so many of our existing tenants upscaling their spaces and committing to long-term leases.

“It’s a true testament to the strength and appeal of the centre. At Kennedy Centre, we take pride in offering something for everyone. Our independent retailers add a level of authenticity and personality that sets us apart.

“Combined with our high-street favourites, this mix creates an unparalleled shopping experience that continues to draw customers through our doors time and time again.”

Tenants who the centre said had committed to extended leases included O’Neills, Eyeworld, The Rug Store, Speedy Shoe Repairs, McCaffrey’s Butchers, Titanic Telecommunications, Banjaxed Country Fried Chicken and Louis Boyd.

The centre said it had also recorded a 3% increase in footfall during 2024.
