Ireland will begin their bid to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico with a home game against Hungary before travelling away to face Armenia in early September.
The four-team group will play out throughout the autumn months with two games in each international window from September to November.
The October window will see Ireland travel away to face the top seeds – either Portugal or Denmark – before returning to Dublin for the reverse clash with Armenia.
November should prove the decisive month as Ireland look to return to the World Cup for the first time since Japan and Korea in 2002, and it will see Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side entertain the top seeds in Dublin before finishing the group away in Hungary.
