Ireland Baldwin, the 29-year-old daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, has opened up about her decision to leave Hollywood, calling the industry a “really dark place.”
In a 2023 interview on Emily Ratajkowski’s High Low with EmRata podcast, Baldwin explained that she couldn’t handle the pressures of Los Angeles anymore.
“I just really couldn’t be in LA anymore,” Emily Ratajkowski stated after reportedly being linked to Shaboozy, before being romantically linked to an NBA player.
Baldwin added that living in LA started to take a toll on her, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s just become a really dark place,” she said.
Baldwin emphasized that she didn’t want to stay in modeling unless she could use it for a positive purpose.
“It’s kind of like this cat and mouse game that I just wasn’t interested in,” she said.
She also tried acting but quickly realized it wasn’t for her.
“I can’t act for s**t,” Baldwin admitted with a laugh. “It’s not in my blood.”
Now in a relationship with musician RAC (André Allen Anjos), Baldwin is raising their one-year-old daughter, Holland.
Earlier this week, Baldwin was seen reuniting with her father Alec in New York City for the holidays.
