SHELBOURNE have snapped up Sligo Rovers midfielder Ellis Chapman to bolster their options for their title defence.
Chapman, 23, impressed at the Showgrounds last season having joined from Cheltenham Town.
He becomes Damien Duff’s third close-season signing, following the arrivals of wingers Ryan O’Kane and Daniel Kelly.
Chapman said: “I am absolutely delighted to be here, I’m looking forward to playing for and representing everything all that Shelbourne football club is.
“Shels is a huge club which aligns with my ambitions.
“I can’t wait to meet everyone and play at the home of Tolka Park, the home of the champions.”
Manager Damien Duff added: “I was very impressed with Ellis all last season and even more so when I had a meeting with him recently.
“He has a real football brain and sees the game so clearly for such a young man.
“Ellis can play a few positions but most importantly brings big stats.
“I am really excited to have him play here and to help him take his game to the next level.
“He is a great signing that will elevate the quality of the squad again.”
