2025 will mark a significant year for golf on the Emerald Isle as The Open will once again be contested on Irish shores.
The tournament will be the final major of the season and will take place at the County Antrim venue next July.
Ahead of the return to the scene of Shane Lowry’s maiden major success, there are three other prestigious events in golf to look forward to.
It all kicks off in Georgia with The Masters, where Scottie Scheffler will aim for a hat-trick of green jackets at Augusta National.
Next, the world’s best golfers will head to one of Rory McIlroy’s favorite courses, Quail Hollow, in North Carolina, for the PGA Championship.
Four-time major winner McIlroy, who has won at the course a record four times, will be looking to end his 11-year wait for a fifth major title.
The final ‘biggie’ prior to The Open at Royal Portrush will be the U.S. Open, held at Oakmont Country Club.
