Emerald Airlines, operator of Aer Lingus Regional, is expecting to see a post-tax profit in the single-digit millions but sees the Dublin Airport passenger cap as a block on increasing its scale

Emerald Airlines, the carrier founded by Conor McCarthy that operates the Aer Lingus Regional service, expects to make a maiden profit this year after launching two years ago.

But Mr McCarthy has warned that the passenger cap at Dublin Airport is damaging the aviation sector and will also see Emerald Airlines pull an aircraft from the gateway next summer rather than adding two.
