Aldi Ireland’s store on Belgard Road in Tallaght, Dublin has reopened following an extensive refurbishment worth €1 million as part of ‘Project Fresh.’
The updated store now features a new layout that includes a wide selection of fresh food at the front of the store, hi-spec fixtures and fittings throughout the store, as well as new product category signage to provide an effortless shopping experience.
The customer-focused layout allows shoppers to find the products they know and love while also browsing new ranges.
Aldi’s Project Fresh design was recognised at the Checkout National Grocery Retail Awards, where its Adamstown store with the design won Discounter Store of the Year Award in 2023.
Project Fresh Enhanced
Last year, Aldi invested €7.2 million in upgrading six of its stores throughout Ireland with the launch of Project Fresh Enhanced.
The new project introduced exciting new units in-store, such as a fresh herb stand, a dedicated bread and cake fixture, and a health and beauty feature.
Aldi has begun the installation of self-service checkouts since trials started in May, including at the Belgard Road store.
The retailer is also committed to improving its energy management systems and its entire store network is powered by 100% wind energy.
Aldi Belgard Road is also deeply rooted in the community and participates in the retailer’s national partnership with FoodCloud, donating surplus food to chairities on a daily basis.
To date, the store has donated over 12,900 meals through FoodCloud, equating to almost 17,350kg of CO2 emissions avoided.
The Tallaght store is also part of Aldi’s Community Grants network, supporting Women’s Collective Ireland, Tallaght Cancer Support Group and Irish Heart Foundation in recent years.
‘Unbeatable Prices’
Speaking at the reopening, Aldi Belgard Road’s store manager Keith Hogan said, “The Project Fresh revamp of our store is fantastic news for our local customers.
“The new spacious design makes for a very enjoyable shop and customers can easily find everything they need with convenient store opening hours.
“We are also thrilled to take part in the trial of Aldi’s brand new self-checkouts.
“Our promise to our Dublin customers is that we will never be beaten on price, wand we will always provide the best value.
“In this current environment, it is more important than ever that customers can always avail of great value products at unbeatable prices here in Aldi.”
