All-Ireland semis to be confirmed on Sunday Game Live

Must read

The draw for the All-Ireland SFC semi-finals, if one is required, will take place on The Sunday Game Live after the last-eight clash between Kerry and Derry on RTÉ One this Sunday evening.

The draw is subject to the avoidance of repeat pairings from any stage in the Championship.

ALL-IRELAND SFC QUARTER-FINALS

Saturday
Armagh v Roscommon, Croke Park, 4pm
Dublin v Galway, Croke Park, 6.15pm

Sunday
Donegal v Louth, Croke Park, 1.15pm
Kerry v Derry, Croke Park, 3.15pm

On Saturday, Armagh face Roscommon before defending champions Dublin take on Galway. The following day Donegal clash with Louth and then the Kingdom play Derry in the last quarter-final of the weekend. All four ties take place at Croke Park.

The lie of the land for each county, in terms of who they would be OK to collide with in the semis, is this:

Armagh: Dublin, Louth or Kerry.
Derry: Roscommon, Dublin or Louth.
Dublin: Armagh, Donegal, Kerry or Derry.
Galway: Roscommon, Louth, Donegal or Kerry.
Kerry: Armagh, Rossies, Dublin, Galway or Donegal.
Louth: Armagh, Roscommon, Galway or Derry.
Roscommon: Galway, Donegal, Louth, Kerry or Derry.

If the four favourites – Armagh, Dublin, Donegal and Kerry – win at the weekend, it will mean Dublin and Kerry are kept apart as Armagh and Donegal have already met, in the Ulster final.

If Armagh, Galway and Donegal all come through their quarters, a repeat pairing is unavoidable and an open draw would be required. If Armagh, Donegal and Derry are victorious, it’s the same scenario.
