The GAA’s Central Competition Controls Committee have confirmed the running order for the four games and it is along expected lines. The games on Saturday will be broadcast on GAAGO, while Sunday’s clashes will feature live on RTÉ.
Louth have been given an extra day to recover from their win over Cork that has put them into the ‘last eight’ for the first time.
They will play Donegal on Sunday at 1.15, the first time the counties have met in a championship game.
The earlier throw-in times are to facilitate supporters from Donegal, Kerry and Derry, who have the longest distances to travel to Croke Park this weekend.
Dublin will play Galway at 6.15 on Saturday evening with the quarter-final weekend kicking off with Armagh and Roscommon (4.0) in the opening game.
Kerry and Derry’s meeting pits the the only team with a 100pc championship record in 2024 against the team that has lost three championship games and drawn one in normal time so far, which will really test the credibility of this format.
Derry made the quarter-finals courtesy of a penalty shootout win over Mayo last weekend.
Dublin’s last championship game against Galway was the 2018 All-Ireland semi-final.
The All-Ireland minor hurling final will be played on Saturday at UPMC Nowlan Park between Tipperary and Kilkenny at 5.30.
