Bank of Ireland has appointed Marie Meehan to lead its 61-branch network in the west, midlands and north-east.
Meehan will oversee the bank’s branches in Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Meath, Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Galway, Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath.
She has more than 20 years’ experience working in financial services with extensive leadership experience across branch banking, fund administration and asset management.
Meehan is a native of Galway, she holds a BA in Irish & Economics from UCD, a H. Dip in Financial Services, and a Professional Diploma in Financial Advice (QFA).
“The face-to-face service which our branches provide is an important part of Bank of Ireland’s offering as a full-service retail bank and Marie’s proven knowledge, experience and dedication to supporting our customers will be a huge asset in this role,” said Alan Durcan, director of distribution channels in Bank of Ireland’s Retail Ireland division.
Bank of Ireland recently announced an investment of more than €60m in branch improvements, including its largest single investment in ATMs for a decade.
The lender has forecast that net interest income this year will be 3-4% lower than last year rather than 5-6% as previously forecast following a strong first quarter.
