UEFA have assigned Belgian referee Erik Lambrechts for Ireland’s UEFA Nations League clash with England at Wembley on Sunday (kick-off 5pm).
The referee has some experience previously of officiating Irish sides dating back over a decade.
He was in charge of Sligo Rovers’ 3-1 home defeat by Rosenburg in a July 2014 Europa League qualifer.
The 40-year-old referee has officiated Ireland underage internationals including two at under-17 level.
Most recently he was fourth official in September 2022 for Ireland’s painful penalty shoot-out play-off elimination for a place at the 2023 under-21 European Championship at the hands of Israel.
