The Hollywood couple celebrated their 80th and 55th birthdays with a special visit from the U2 frontman
Catherine Zeta-Jones surprised husband Michael Douglas on his 80th birthday with a visit from Bono in Dublin.
The Welsh actress celebrated her 25th shared birthday with Douglas, turning 55 on the same day. The Hollywood A-listers blew out a birthday candle on a cupcake while being serenaded by the U2 frontman.
The couple celebrated following a visit to The Gables in Foxrock, South Dublin. The restaurant is run by NolaClan, who operate a number of eateries around the country including House Dublin, House Belfast and House Limerick.
The Morticia Addams actress also recently caused a stir on Instagram, posting a photo of herself in her “birthday suit” to mark the occasion. She shared: “After over 25 years of sharing my birthday day with my husband, I am running out of gift ideas! This is gift option two, golf balls being option one… of course”.
Douglas was quick to respond with a post of his wife and a caption reading: “To my birthday sister, I love you with all my heart! May your new year be the best!”
Zeta-Jones is currently in Ireland filming the Wednesday series with Jenny Ortega, Luiz Guzmán, Fred Armisen and Gwendoline Christie. The actress shared thanks om social to “my Wednesday family for making my birthday so wonderful. And to Bono! For well,….being Bono and making it exceptional”.
