And rugby stars of today and yesterday were given a test drive of the state-of-the-art ground, courtesy of the Manor, Tourism Ireland & the Ryder Cup.

Leinster legend O’Driscoll has made no effort to hide his infatuation with the sport – with every month seemingly bringing another golfing adventure.

Last month he was given a masterclass on navigating The Royal Troon by legendary caddy Fanny Sunneson ahead of The Open.

In June he was joined by Rob Kearney, Rory Best and Andrew Trimble among other IRFU legends on an idyllic golfing getaway in St Patrick’s Links in Donegal.

Current Leinster star Porter shares that enthusiasm on his socials, most recently travelling to the Mount Wolseley Golf Resort last week to play a round with his wife Elaine.

Though he’s only been in the game for a few years, van der Flier plays off a single-digit handicap.

Lowe didn’t pick up the game until the pandemic, but has fully immersed in the game – now a golf ambassador for his local Carlton House Golf Club.

Needless to say, all four men jumped the opportunity to feel out the greens.

After the game, van der Flier took to Instagram to say: “Incredible experience, what a course!”

Porter added: “Great day out, thanks for having us.”

One commenter said under the post: “I was at Adare Manor a few weeks ago.

“What a beautiful place and amazing course.”

One fan’s eyes were only on O’Driscoll’s amazing physique, ten years on from retirement: “Bod looks like he could lace up!”
