Bronze for Ireland at Cerebral Palsy Football World Cup

Ireland’s Women’s Cerebral Palsy team has won a bronze medal at the 2024 International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football World Cup.

It is the first time the team has participated in the competition.

The team, who are coached by Aisling Conway and Irene Hehir, made it through to the Bronze Medal game to face Japan for a second time.

They beat their opponents 6-1 in their final game of the tournament in Salou, Spain.

Heather Jameson and Eva Walsh got two goals each while another goal came from Elsie Friel.
