The McGregor family has splashed the cash to book out the entire five-star Cashel Palace hotel, owned by Tipperary tycoon John Magnier, for the wedding of Erin McGregor, sister of MMA star Conor, and her fiancé Terry Kavanagh this afternoon.

Although the couple have remained tight-lipped on their big day, it is understood the family spent a six-figure sum taking over the Tipperary hotel.

The 42 rooms at the hotel range from an estimated €500 per night up to €1,200 for private suites.

A source told the Sunday Independent: “The couple have booked out the entire venue. You can’t even go there for a scone and a cup of tea today. It’s the celebrity wedding.”

Guests began arriving at the venue on Friday night for today’s celebrations.

The family had jetted to several luxury locations abroad, including Italy and Portugal, before finally choosing the Tipperary venue following a six-month search.

After making the decision to host an Irish wedding, Erin told her followers on her social media page: “I think home is calling us for the logistics of everything with Harzo (her son) and the stress that we put ourselves under. Less stress for us on our big day was the deciding factor.”

Erin once said brother Conor was “most generous person I know”

Built in 1730 for the Archbishop of Cashel, it has played host to the A-list stars such as Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor through the years. It has recently undergone a dramatic transformation, overseen by Susan Magnier.

The interiors are by London-based Emma Pearson and the gardens have been restored and revamped by landscape architects Del Buono Gazerwitz.

The interiors have been described as “refined”, “bling-free” and “ultra luxe”.

Erin has previously described how much her brother Conor spoilt the family, describing him as the “most generous person I know”.
