Countdown to Amazon.ie as businesses are invited to register and new Country Manager is announced

Must read

Businesses in Ireland can now register their accounts here to sell on Amazon to customers around the world, ahead of the launch of Amazon.ie in 2025.

While many people in Ireland already shop on Amazon stores in other countries, the new Ireland store will offer a localised shopping experience offering customers what they value most – a wide selection of over 100 million products including even more from Irish businesses, low prices, and fast, convenient delivery and returns.

Amazon.ie will be a home for Irish businesses small and large, and will empower them to grow both in Ireland and abroad. More than 60% of sales on Amazon stores globally are from independent sellers – most of which are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Over 1,000 Irish SMEs already sell more than 5.5 million products on Amazon, with home, beauty, grocery, and health & personal care the most popular categories.

Dublin-born and based Alison Dunn, who has been with Amazon for almost a decade, has been appointed Country Manager for Amazon’s retail business in Ireland as it prepares to open its virtual doors. Alison has previously held roles in both Amazon’s retail business and Amazon Web Services (AWS), which already has a strong presence in Ireland.

“Our teams across the country are incredibly excited about the launch of Amazon.ie in 2025, and writing the next chapter of our story in Ireland,” said Alison. “The store is great news for Irish customers and businesses alike, and we’re taking another big step towards launching Amazon.ie by opening our doors for businesses to join us as Selling Partners ahead of launch.”

The new store will also be supported by the five-year agreement that Amazon and An Post announced last year, which will lead to more convenient, faster deliveries and returns.

Amazon already has a rich history in Ireland, and employs around 6,500 people in Cork, Dublin, and Drogheda in a diverse range of roles including data engineers, operations management, and finance. Since 2004, Amazon has made direct investments in our Ireland operations of more than €22 billion.

In 2023, Irish SMEs selling on Amazon recorded over €170 million in export sales, with over half of those (more than €100 million) in export sales outside the EU. Those SMEs have also gone on to create more than 2,500 Irish jobs to support their businesses on Amazon.

More details about the new store will be announced in the new year, alongside further information about customer offers and benefits.
