Established in 1983, Network Ireland now has over 1,300 members across seventeen branches around Ireland and a virtual branch launched this year. Members come from all areas of the business community, those running their own businesses, both large and small and those working for corporate and small businesses.
Reflecting on her new role, Deborah stated: “It is both an honour and a great joy to step into the role of 2025 Wicklow Branch President. This year, my chosen theme is #Kaizen, a Japanese philosophy centred on continuous improvement. The term combines ‘kai’ (meaning ‘change’) and ‘zen’ (meaning ‘good’) – a reminder that small steps lead to big change.
“We have a host of exceptional events planned for 2025, all thoughtfully designed to inspire personal growth and align with our commitment to continuous improvement, both in our personal and professional lives. Our work is made possible by our dedicated and supportive committee. I am truly fortunate to work alongside such an inspiring team in the coming year.
The chosen charity partner for 2025 is Women’s Aid.
Deborah said: “For over 50 years, Women’s Aid has been a lifeline for women and children, providing essential support and working tirelessly to prevent and address the effects of domestic violence.”
She also acknowledged Dawn Leane’s major contribution to Network Ireland Wicklow during her time serving as President.
“I am eager to build upon the outstanding achievements of our past presidents, and I look forward to a year filled with inspiration and progress.
“A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing president, Dawn Leane, for her exceptional leadership, dedication, and hard work. Her passion and commitment has left a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for everything she has done to uplift our branch,” added Deboah.
Outgoing president Dawn expressed her delight with the 2024 achievements, as she stated: “It has been my privilege to serve as President for a second time, in 2024. Network Ireland Wicklow has had an extraordinary year. With support from the Wicklow Local Enterprise Office, our membership has continued to grow, and we’ve supported our theme of #Audacity with a wide range of events and networking opportunities.
“Highlights of the year include our International Women’s Day celebration and the Businesswoman of the Year awards, both of which saw fantastic attendance. We are thrilled to continue our successful partnerships with AIB as our National Sponsor, Wicklow Local Enterprise Office, and Wicklow Town & District Chamber of Commerce.
“I am pleased to announce that we raised a significant amount for Blue Dolphins Special Olympics Club, our chosen charity, through a combination of fundraising, donations, and sponsorship efforts.
“I look forward to seeing how the network develops further during Deborah’s presidency and I wish her every success in this important role.”
