Aine Donegan and Anna Foster both exited the quarter finals of the NCAA Women’s Championship bringing their collegiate seasons to an end.
Donegan helped LSU into the matchplay stages and was the leading qualifier for her team on four-under in the strokeplay qualifying as they claimed medallist honours.
Elm Park’s Foster played her last nine holes in three-under-par to help Auburn grab the eighth and final spot to advance to the matchplay stages.
In the quarter finals, LSU were beaten 3-2 by Oregon with Donegan losing the anchor match on the 18th hole.
The Lahinch woman was 2UP early on having won the first and second holes but a bogey on the sixth and ninth saw her go into the back nine level pegging with Romero.
A bogey on the par-5 10th saw her fall one behind but she levelled matters after 13.
Losses on the 14th and 16th left her up against it but a clutch birdie on 17 brought the match down the 18th which was halved in fives.
Auburn were beaten 3-0 by leading qualifiers Stanford with Foster going down 4&3 to Rachel Heck as the final two matches were called in early.
