Dublin-based firm Ethos Engineering has announced it will create 250 new jobs following a significant investment from a private equity firm.
Ethos Engineering was founded in 2005 and provides electrical and mechanical designs for sustainable buildings, with projects in 19 countries. It also has a particular focus on the design of data centres.
The investment is being provided by London-based private equity firm Exponent. The amount the firm is investing into Ethos Engineering was not disclosed.
According to Ethos, the investment will help create 250 jobs over the next five years and allow it to explore opportunities in additional sectors and markets.
Ethos Engineering chief executive Greg Hayden said the “demand for data” is continuing to grow and it is “vital that data centre owners deliver their services in a way that is sustainable and energy efficient”.
“We look forward to expanding our capabilities on foot of this investment from Exponent.”
Anthony Clegg from Exponent said the increasing digitisation of the global economy “will continue to drive demand for data centres around the world”.
“We are excited by the opportunities this creates for Ethos, as a trusted design partner to some of the leading global data centre players, to deliver sustainable design services on an increasingly international stage,” he said.
Ethos has provided mechanical and electrical design services for data centres in Germany, Sweden, as well as Amsterdam among others.
Outside of data centres, the company has also worked on the redesign of Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Google Boland’s Quay in Dublin city centre, as well as the Microsoft headquarters in Dublin.
