The owners of the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Dublin have completed the purchase of the Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge in Wicklow, bringing an end to over three decades of the O’Brien family’s ownership of Ireland’s oldest hotel.

Purchased by Esther and Billy O’Brien in the early 1990s, the family’s years of service have seen them expand and develop the Woodenbridge Hotel’s offering, transforming it from a 12-bedroom hotel in desperate need of a facelift into a 69-bed hotel with a reputation as one of Ireland’s premier locations.
