Fancy nibbling on some cheese while taking in a guided tour of the Waterford Port?
Well, a ‘Port & Cheese’ Waterford Chamber Business Afterhours event is being hosted on Thursday, June 20 from 5:30pm on location.
The event will see the local business community gather to the Port, its plans for growth and its position as a ‘key driver’ in the building of the south east economy of the future.
Guests at the event will get a guided tour of the facilities and enjoy some locally made cheeses, as well as a selection of food from Shirely’s Park Road Delicatessen which features an abundance of local Waterford food producer ingredients.
Members and non-members of Waterford Chamber are welcome to attend the ‘Port and Cheese’ event on June 20, which will take place at Marine Point in Belview Port from 5.30pm to 7pm.
Speaking ahead of the upcoming event, CEO at Port of Waterford David Sinnott said: “In 2023, 94% of all the export containers that left the Port of Waterford were from the four counties of the south east – Waterford, Kilkenny, Wexford and Carlow.
“By using the Port of Waterford, each business behind these boxes made a 27% carbon saving.
“We are looking forward to sharing how we work closely with businesses all across the south east to enable them to grow their markets annually, how we deliver on carbon emission reduction annually, how we recently managed the largest ever onshore wind cargo in the history of the state and how we are positioned for the future of offshore wind energy economy.”
